1401 - 1417 Gratiot

1401-1417 Gratiot is in Detroit’s Historic Eastern Market. Julius Berkovitz founded Bee Hardware store in 1918 at this corner of Gratiot and Russell. A few years later the word “Busy” was added to the name and Busy Bee expanded its first floor to include the four Victorian buildings to the east of the original establishment. Busy Bee Hardware had been operating in this location for generations until 2017 when it finally closed its doors.
